Limited Civil War hunting experience but received permission to hunt a 200 acre property that sits right beside a Civil war trails road marker. Of course this makes me wonder each “ what is this” that I don’t recognize might be civil war item. Here’s another. Trying to go through archives so to limit my inquiries. Anyway, never dug anything like this from anywhere else. Hoping for an ID. Thanks 7F86EC0B-A81D-4E66-9CFC-17FABAC2A2ED.jpeg32005967-5895-4964-833B-E03A835D0233.jpeg

That looks like a hem weight. They were sewn into the hem on womens's dresses to keep them from blowing up. They were also used in curtains and, I believe, men's coat tails.

These weights were used before, during, & way after the CW. No way to pin it down to a tight dateline unless it was in a sealed context.
