I don't think that is a token. Back around the civil war era they had watch chains with copies of gold dollars in them. I think you might have something like that. It appears there might have been loops on the end of it.

I really don't know for sure if those are civil war era or not. I have never dug one but I have seen two dug and they both came from camp sites. Someone from the 1890s could have come along for a visit and lost it.

What gets me is that they're dated. The one I found is dated 1865. The one I found a picture of was dated 1864.
