✅ SOLVED Civil war era token?

Found this token thing yesterday. It has roughly the same design as a dollar coin but smaller and obviously not a precious metal. Looks as if its part of a link and I believe it's dated either 1861 or 1865. I know I've seen one on here before but can't find for the life of me. Thanks for looking

I don't think that is a token. Back around the civil war era they had watch chains with copies of gold dollars in them. I think you might have something like that. It appears there might have been loops on the end of it.

Finally found a better example! I believe watch chain is correct

I really don't know for sure if those are civil war era or not. I have never dug one but I have seen two dug and they both came from camp sites. Someone from the 1890s could have come along for a visit and lost it.

What gets me is that they're dated. The one I found is dated 1865. The one I found a picture of was dated 1864.
