Whats up my friends. I finally sat down and got the graphite pencils photoed. I found these last weekend while I was digging a pit and hadn't had a chance yet to post them. I found one two weeks ago and had no idea that I would come up with this many more. These are pretty rare to find and wanted to share with all my fellow friends, CivilMan, MM, TyMcMurray, Buck, Kyle, Kirk, etc. and everyone else who loves the Civil War era stuff...

You reckon one of those graphites could have written this letter I uncovered at Ft. Powhatan a few years back? LOL. :icon_scratch:
I found it in the match case up under a root about 7 inches deep. I was hoping for a plate. :-*
But, I like what I ended up with.

Writing isn't good enough to read more than a few words here and there.

Cheers :icon_salut:

Great Stuff and that letter is GREAT!! Indeed, that letter was probably written with one of these graphite pencils...that or either a lead one. That is ONE GREAT FIND BUD and I know you loved the opportunity to hunt Fort Powhatan. I have a buddy who went there with a friend and they pulled out a nice Parrot shell. I haven't had the opportunity to hunt there but I am sure it is a awesome place with relics still to be had. If I was you, I would try to have somebody restore that letter and get the words so that they are more legible...than I would frame it with the case you found it in. Either way, GREAT STUFF AND GREAT FIND
