Civil war bullet help

The bullet in question is on the left (at least I think it's a bullet. The 3 groove hammered bullet to the right is for perspective.

I *think* what I'm looking at is a fired bullet. I see 3 maybe 4 grooves, but the diameter is much smaller than the 3 groove bullet to the right.

What do you guys think?

Fired civil war bullet? Type?
