Civil war buckle of some sort

Found today while digging civil war bullets from an old church I like to hunt, everything else I’ve found there has been civil war but I have no idea what this was. Has some gilt but the front is too corroded to ID myself.

With a tongue on it like that, my guess is half of a sash buckle.
