CIVIL WAR BREASTPLATE DUG TODAY!

When I was out detecting today, I found this Civil war Breastplate that wad in very good condition. It is my first breastplate I have ever found. I want to know if this is Union or Confederate, or if they both used this type of plate. It has a place where a piece of cloth would go through it. Thanks for looking!
