Just wanted to post this barrel loop I dug the other day out of a trash pit where my eagle breast plate was found - went back to the spot this afternoon and finished digging it out but didn't get nothing but a few rivets, 1 smashed up eagle button and two 3 ringers.. No more plates in it which is a bummer but that is how it goes, carried this loop out of the woods about a half mile.. Got some other things going on in my life now so i probably won't be digging for civil war relics for a month or so... H.H> everyone...
Oh btw.. if you dig one of these CW barrel loops in the ground you need to dig the hole out where you found it or a few feet next to it, more then likely it is a trash pit or a barrel that was used for trash...
