Got out into the button field again. It is snowing a little, but no accumulation and the ground is not frozen at all. We may get a few more weeks of detecting up here. Only have to be careful of the deer hunters. I'm wearing bright yellow and orange. A guy in the town over was hunting in a field and his "friend" shot and killed him. Thought he was a coyote he said (come on now, an orange coyote). There are some very dumb people out there and they have guns. They give the careful and good hunters a bad name. Anyway. Found a real nice pocket brass watch key, from around 1800 along with a large late 1700 tombac colonial button, an old iron harness buckle and a 38-40 caliber ball. Only had about an hour. Its looking good for a whole day of detecting on Saturday. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks for looking....Lance

What amazes me is that you know what everything is when you find it! You're our TreasuerNet history book online! ;D

Good luck & Happy hunting~

So I am curious, when you are out finding all these old relics, do you ever find trash or clad coins and just dont include them in the pic, or is that really all you find? If so, I sure wish I could just dig up old good stuff :D !!

Hey Cillosis. These fields have very few newer coins. I think that I have found one in this field. There are some bottle caps and other pieces of trash metal, occaisionally a pop top. I usually only post the more interesting finds. Thanks for asking...Lance
