I've seen cigars in glass tubes before but never cigarettes. Neat find.

Very cool. Never seen anything like them. I imagine there are some tobacco collectors who would like to have these. No idea how much they would be willing to pay. Were they mine, I would be tempted to put a single cigarette (in the tube) on ebay at a rather high price and see how much attention it gets in terms of the number of page views and watchers.

I once found a box of Cuban cigars...with a batista tax stamp...LEGAL CUBANS....this was in the late 1980's...re hydrated the cigars, sold the box for over a thousand dollars..
had spent 200.oo at a yard sale in Tucson...one luger, long barrel{WWI}, one box of cigars, one M-2 carbine...

looks like 1944 tax stamp (series 114)
I'd be tempted to sit Back & smoke One.

(Time Travel)

if it isn't so dry it flashes

I will try one, see how it is compared to the reds I am used to. I like the Time Travel idea.

enhale real careful that first puff :laughing7:

I've smoked old dry Cigs in the past & that first draw can be Like smoking Stems :tongue3:

rehydrate prior to lighting one of those sticks....

get a small Tupperware container..place a rack above the water level...about a inch....put top on...cigs on rack...come back next day....nice cigarette...oh yea..remove from glass tube.

Let a smoke breath overnight, and spark it up homie!

AWESOME FIND! People would love those little doob tubes

Do you think I would need to remove corks before trying to rehydrate? I like your suggestion. Thanks again.

Thanks. And the tax stamp is one inch wide, so the series 114 corresponds to the year 1944. Jeff was correct. Gonna Time travel and have a 69 year old wartime smoke.

ok...after exposure to the moisture..the cig will be a bit wet...no direct contact..just that old tabacco will really pick up water....

so...remove from Tupperware and let sit in open air....keep testing till you think it is a smoke able object...

have fun..

Thanks so much, this is helpful. I think jeff might have gotten the date right. I will measure stamp when I get home later.

I would not smoke any yet.... You might find out that these are worth quite a bit individually, so if you smoke one it would be a shame to find out you smoked a twenty dollar cigarette...lol. I think to a cigarette collector or anyone into tobacco related items, these could be very rare. and that could translate into expensive... i sure would find out first.
just an idea...
Great find and I would love to have them myself...

Yeah you shouldn't smoke them until you find out the value. They may be 10 a cig for all you know lol. Take it to a good tobacco store and they can tell you. I'm not talking cheap tobacco either.

Maybe he wants to smoke a $20 cigarette? Not everything in life is about money. Just saying...
