Check this out.

Thanks Tn, I don't buy points from ebay. I was searching for fossils when I stumbled on this. Don't know what to think about that monster. Just thought some folks might find it interesting.

Good looking point. However, if one has skill to reproduce such a point, I would think creating that certificate is pie work for them. On the other hand, points that nice are really found. That is my quarrel with buying, selling, and even knapping today. It is sad that authentic pieces have to be questioned. Nice show any way!

Perino didn't sign the COA's in his later years, he stamped them. That's a legitimate Perino paper - his typewriter had a mind of its own and left very identifiable lettering .

I wouldn't mind having that piece, but I'm way too po'.

Very interesting. I told my wife if it has a Perino COA it's probably legit. I still got a funny look from her, and it was hard to defend the lack of a clear signature, or stamp. Thanks for the info.

It's an embossing stamp / seal and leaves an imprint instead of ink. It's there. There are other "fake" Perino embossing seals out there and even his original was taken from his house after he passed. His typewriter was pretty unique though and that usually tells the story. There are fake COA's out there and you really have to be careful of what you're doing.

Is this piece missing a tiny piece at the tip? I can't really tell by pics. Also, what is the round spot on the base? Being that it is obsidian, it couldn't be mineral deposits, could it?? If you are biding on it Viking, good luck.
