Check out this video on google

When he pulled out the wire I thought, Finally, an Honest
Discription of Metal Detecting.

Then he pulled out the silver Dollar, with the Shine still on it & I laughed.

Still a Cool Video.

it looks like the video was edited right before he starts digging the dollar. i aint sayin it was planted..... ::)

What kind of machine is that ? I never saw one like that .

Looked like a Bounty Hunter to me.

I had one shaped the same, just not the same Face.

THE SILVER WAS PLANTED if you watch when he is cutting the grass you can see the first plug from the first time he cut it up to plant the silver coin.

When one goes fishing, first you need the right equipment, then you have to dig up the correct BAIT! ;D

Exactly.

they all do it.

I agree with Jeff, the silver dollar was a bit much. A silver dollar find rates up there with a bust dime for find rarity.

But, it was cool to watch the video. I think it would have been better without the music blasting and better camera pointing.

When you cut a plug like that you don't need to put it back. You just cut off all the roots just below the surface. Come back in a day and I'll find every place he dug. They will be brown circles of dead grass. Rob

My Gawd, I'm glad I have a spider coil.... if I was to cut plugs like that, metal detecting would be outlawed in Oregon, lol!

Well, good deal on the rest, if he did find it that day and not planted... :)

Planted. Not enough dirt was attached to that coin, regardless of the "plug split".

I will say this to the above poster about the "shine" still on it: In Kansas, when you dig a silver coin, it comes out looking like the day it was dropped. That is no indication of a planted coin, unless you rwere referring to the no clinging dirt.

::) Guy seemed a little nonchalant considering he just dug a AU? Peace $! Like he does it all the time! I can see a little editing for the sake of time, but that was ridiculous!

What suprised me was that he never rechecked the holes...just pulled out one thing...and then covered and moved on...so you know he already knew that there was only one thing in each hole.
