Hey guys,

Found a few items at low tide in Charleston that have me stumped. The first 2 appear to be buttons of some kind- perhaps made of lead or pewter. Both have remnants of what appears to be a shank on the back. The first is 3/4 of an inch in diameter, the larger is 1 inch in diameter and significantly thinker (3/16 of an inch). The coin has a palm tree on the back and unknown writing on the front. The metal type is unknown, but it is weakly struck (initial though was an arcade token but the writing doesn't fit). Any ideas?

Here is what I found about your token :

גאולת ציון= Geulat Tzion

It means "Redemption of Zion".

Essentially a token saying that Israel should be a state.

They're pewter and the part button is interesting. Post a straight on closer pic.

Best guess the token was minted between the end of WWII (2 September 1945) and 15 May 1948 when Israel became a recognized State...somewhere within a 3 year period...

ahhh... looked like a design, but is just damage. They are early buttons though, so something good could be close.
