was hoping to get into old salt water spot with my snuba system
showed up - water was warm enough - air was warm enough - water was calm - clear
But the fishermen were out in force - striper fishermen were in boats over the spot and there were guys hittin it from shore
So threw plans A & B out - went to plan C
ended up hittin where the fishers weren't - got rewarded with a nice 18k band and a huge tungsten carbide band
So plan C worked again:thumbsup:

Great stuff, Casper! And 18k--awesome! Congrats. -Lisa & John

Looks like you went to plans C (coins) and G (gold), great job locating some interesting finds! :occasion14:

I'd say the change of plans paid off nicely. Congrats on the rings.

Question for you- ironically enough my detecting partner (who is relatively new to the hobby) lost his very own wedding ring last week on the golf course I hunt a lot. His ring is tungsten carbide and similar to the one you found. How does it sound/VDI on your detector? Chances are slim of finding it this year, but it should be close to the surface if we are lucky enough to swing over it.

find are from underwater - so no vdi #s - CZ21 - just makes burps and beeps
seeing how most guys would hopefully not throw trash on the course and don't see them losing a lot of change - maybe dimes for ball marking
id just got and either swing for it - pun intended - or go with a couple of steel leaf rakes and rake around - youll hear the click when you hit it
good luck

Sweet rings Casper. Congrats!

I will gladly give you 10 tungsten carbide rings for that puny gold one. Deal?

Nice score Casper

Thanks for the reply Casper. His ring could be anywhere on the fairways and roughs of an entire 9 hole course. It'll be a miracle to find it lol

Nice rings, Casper-2. That 18 K is an exceptional find.

Congrats on the gold, also love the toy WW II airplane

Surprised you did not find the anchors those shackle pins go to.

unless recovered by the owners... the anchors would have been close by.

believe they are prob from swimming buoy anchors not boat ones - boats are not allowed to anchor near here
