Chaga for us is year round when we can find them on Birch trees. My son drinks a glass every day and I average every two days. We both have not had colds or real sick for many years, my son is at 11 years and I am at 8 years. Cannot say if this is the reason however I can say it has not hurt us.
Two other of Natures Bounty for us is in the spring time for fiddle heads and pine cone syrup. Here's some picture of Chaga.....

Chaga is amazing stuff,I was introduced to it by a trapper friend of mine, and am happy he did.I have had similar results as you have and would recommend to anyone for health benefits.( Check with your DR.first) Around my area they primarily grow on yellow Birch.

Forgive me for posting this but I am NOT going to try something that could endanger me because of a post i read on A INTERNET FORUM !!!

It's very easy to identify. Very safe unless you are on certain medications. As with anything talk to your doctor. But it's benefits are worth the effort.

I have to 🤣 to think that my Dr. would even know what Chaga is actually.
This would be on the voo-doo 🧙‍♀️ 🪄 spectrum for them.

Best advice I have is to do your own research.
The side effects.
The benefits.

When I see my Dr. or specialists the question of do you take any medication 💊-none.
Do take any vitamins or natural supplements.
This is another-none 🫰

I love messing with their heads, they can't figure out why I don't have "their clinical symptoms "

Great idea. Lets not be endangering ourselves.
What did your doctor and medical staff have to say about holistic approaches to immunity?

Did they clear you on sampling Chaga?
Next time ask them about birch tea. Both from twigs and from sap.

Been taking/using Chaga for 15 yrs now. Have it on a few birch trees still on the property.
Have a few sealed containers with some inventory.
I can tolerate it for short periods then go off it again.
Longer than 1-2 months I start to get a dermatitis of sorts.
A close friend really had a poison Ivy type rash.
Found out recently that he also had a allergy to Chaga.
He had been drinking it for years, and they figure too much of a good thing was the result. He went off it, symptoms left, started the drinking again and had the flare up again.
Certain natural products contain low levels of certain elements. The body can start to absorb these to a point of toxicity even.

Moderation in everything is good for some individuals.

Spruce bud tips, have you munched on any.
We graze in the spring, have a few as we see fit.

That is a good point Gare and should apply to many other things as well. As others have already mentioned here one should do their own due diligence if some thing is right for them. For myself if I have just a tiny bit of knowledge on a certain subject I usually get in trouble and that is the reason why I stay away from mushrooms, as they say "better safe than sorry".

pepperj mentioned Spruce bud tips & releventchair mentioned Birch tea which are just a few more of Natures Bounty if one is interested.
I'm looking forward in a couple of months to go picking fiddle heads and pine cones .....

White pine. just the rearmost tip of needles.
During hunting season when dry mouthed too.
Vit. C ; but that's not why I enjoy sampling them.

Sassafras leaf joint at branch. Just the "bulb" while stem gets used for a brief mint.
Seldom see them afield though. Do nab a sample in the yard.
Crush roll and rub a green leaf on my hat sometimes when mosquitos are bad.
No I don't dry them to thicken gumbo.

If I destroy any I'll save root bark for tea. No I'm not concerned about their potential carcinogenic aspect (safrole). I'm not bathing in it or drinking a bathtub full per serving.
Or indulging frequently near as much as annually.
