Palo Alto officials express relief about containment of mine fire

Council Vice President Gerald Richter Jr. said state officials have deemed the fire — burning on the boundary where Palo Alto meets East Norweigian Township — in no danger of spreading.

“For the record, this is not another Centralia — not even close,” said council President Charles Dries.

wow,I just watched the news at 11 pm and seen that fire was where we had lunch that day,and was going to e-mail jeff but i see jeff is on top of it already what a shame they had good food...I will let the guys that went there know tomorrow,I hope no one was hurt..thanks for the pictures....mike
