Went back to that same old athletic field that has been producing some nice finds for me lately. This time I hunted further up the field next to the woods. Got a real nice silver signal along the side of a cross-country track. It was only about 3 inches deep. Dug my digger in the ground about 4 inches and scooped up some dirt. I saw the flash of silver in the dirt and knew I had something good. Turned out to be an 1876 Quarter. Twirled my pinpointer around in the hole and got another signal. Turned up an 1876-s dime. Hard to believe they had been passed over all those years.
Further down the track I picked up a silver Rosie which was not even an inch deep.
Here's the '76 Quarter:

Thanks for looking.
