Picked up a box of pennies today because it was my day off and I only had plans in the early afternoon..

I realized it only takes about 1 hour to search an entire box, copared to my first box that took me 2-3 hours...

Canadian:
1x2003
1x1995
1x1994
1x1992*1867-1992*
2x1989
1x1983
1x1979
1x1976
1x1972
1x1964
1x1963
1x1957

Wheaties:
2x1958
2x1956D
2x1955
2x1952
2x1951D
1x1950
1x1948
2x1945
1x1944
3x1941
2x1940
1x1935

and 1 possible error, I don't specifically look for errors, as it would triple the time it takes to search boxes...but as my collection grows, I may begin to.

Any advice on if this is an error or not?
Can't tell if its worn smooth, or if its an error.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx.

Its hard to see in the photo, but the bottom of the coin, the outer ridge seems to not be there...the entire coin is all worn the same from what it looks like accept that the bottom has no ridge.

Okay, I know what you're talking about. I'm still not sure if it is an error either, but, believe it or not, I had a penny that I found in a box two days ago that was a zinc that I saved because the bottom rim was completely missing also. It looked strange to me. I'll have to check on what year it is, I'll let you know when I find it. I'm in the same boat as you wondering if it is an error or not. Anybody else know?

My rule of thumb is: it should be immediately apparent what part of a coin is being discussed for a potential error. If I have to search and squint for the appropriate area, it's probably not an error, or at least not one worth any serious money. I'd guess this this is simply some mild misalignment. Pretty common.

Thanx Immy.

I returned the clad today and asked if the teller had any half dollars, she had one picked it up and dropped it...it didn't sound like clad...so I said can I have it...and when she handed me the cash she handed that to me as well...

Sure enough...first time I've gotten a silver half from anything CRH involved...found silver dimes in the till at my old job, and silver halfs my mom gave me, but haven't found one yet...so I am happy...
Wheats, Canadians, and a 40%*1966*

I haven't done to much CRHing because of monetary restraints...and its still kind of tight...but now that I'm moving through cent boxes faster than before, I am gonna order 3*$75* for Friday/Saturday...hopefully I'll be able to do that every week....build my collection faster...

Happy hunting all.

Great Ghondi, keep searchin' those pennies! They're guaranteed to produce, at least copper and wheats anyway. And probably easier to find than halves. Congrats on your first silver too.

Thanx.
If I was keeping the copper...well I wouldn't have returned much....at least 50% of this box was copper...
