Beautiful find! Where was it found ? (country- not specific site)

Wow, 53cm is quite large for a Celtic/iron age spear, that there is a fantastic find! Great condition too, often the sockets and parts of the blade are damaged/decayed by deep rust but this looks great. Keep up the good finds like this!

Now thats more convincing - very nice find!

Whats the story?

Nice Find-

Any word on the Dagger?

Wowser, that is a beauty! Any back story?

everything I could say about this is that is found by my father 20 years ago, and the image of the spear was published in two books, the books are speaking about population in the area of Posavina, it is a region in the northern part of the former Bosnia and Herzegovina and now the northern part of the Republic of Serbska.
spear is owned by my father, the estimated age of the spear is 2350 years, the spearhead is bent because it is believed that Celtic warriors when they surrendered, they bent the tip of the spear in a gesture of surrender

Thank you for sharing your story

This spear had found my father in a small village , a village is located in the municipality of Brod, in the maps called Bosanski Brod, in the northern part of the Republic of Serbska Bosnia and Herzegovina
on the other side of the river Sava is State Croatia and the town of Slavonski Brod, on the bank of the river in Slavonski Brod is a large Roman fortress on both banks of the river Sava people find numerous objects from the Roman period but also from a much older period and even from stone Age, I have a stone ax from the Stone Age and a few coins from the Roman era

I haven't heard that before but it makes sense. I've read that spears, swords etc. were often "ritually sacrificed" by Celtic peoples by bending them before throwing them in a spiritually significant lake or river, burning them or burying them, so that could also be an explanation for the bend if it wasn't related to battle damage or surrender. It is on the large-end for spearheads, and the Celts usually made larger or fancy items for sacrificial purposes, so it is quite possible that your spearhead was more than just a weapon. It's very nice.

One of the biggest spear tips i've seen. Celtic spear tips are usually much shorter, maybe more ritual related than a weapon. The bend blade speaks more for sacrifice or grave goods like Plumbata said. Thats a find everyone likes to make with that beautiful condition!

That is amazing
