Cellar hole finds- Ring, IH & 6-19-1867 pat hinge
Met up w/ a bunch of guys today to detect a cellar hole DP Bob prepared for us. (Thanks!) Besides having a great time meeting new people and b.s'ing a bit, I was able to pull out a few keepers. Not as good as Watercolors finds (which was just as exciting to watch as if I dug 'em myself), but I'm happy. I found the ring and IH about 3 feet away from where Watercolor found his finds. IH is 1909 w/ a full Liberty (just have to clean it a bit more), Wheatie is a '35.
The ring looks to be silver plated, and I have no clue what the stone may be. It definately has an old design to it though.
I also found something that might have been a pin too, the backside has the two attachment points, but no actual pin?
The lighter is pretty neat too.
And the lantern piece is great because of the patent date on it. Didn't even know it until I got home and cleaned it off June 19 1867. That just confirms that site is old. Gotta love it when you get a patent date.
Lets get out again some time.
