I had an extra cedar board left over from maing plant boxes.i figured since cedar wont rot why not make a finish sluice lol! so here it is so far .just getting ready to silicone joints before matting 20160313_090232.jpg

RS ,cedar contains a lot of natural oil. Oil and fine gold are not a good combination. Good Luck
 

Gold is oleophilic (attracted to oil). The effect of oil is that it can attract and float gold out of a sluice or pan (not a good thing) but it is actually used to concentrate and recover it in some flotation circuits used by mining operations. Its not likely that there will be any or enough oils secreted from the cedar to have any effect in your usage. By the way, pretty sluice.:icon_thumright:

thanks.actually itll have bbed matting anyways so itll be fine,and it has coats of car finish...so I'm gonna give it a go
 

it will have matting and its got4 coatsc so I'm gonna give it a shot.thank for the compliments
