When selling catalytic converters (cats as they are called in the trade) you need to check around in your area to see who is paying the most. In most cases it will be some guy who buys them exclusively as a broker. He will usually pay quite a bit more than a scrapyard. I have one in my area (who is also a friend of mine). I sold him some cats last year and he payed me nearly a hundred dollars apiece while the scrapyards were only paying 25 dollars. To locate one ask around at any junkyards in your area and the privage garages doing mechanical repair. These places are usually visited by a broker or scrap cat buyer on a regular basis. Don't fool with the chain shops such as MaxiMuffler or WalMart for they are required to use contract companies to do their recycling. No use talking to them. You may also need to venture out some to find one perhaps as much as a hundred miles or more from where you live. My friend regularly goes a couple of hundred miles in several directions to buy cats from different businesses. Regards, Chris Hyder.
