Like in the States, over here in Aussie land there are a lot of small hillbilly like hamlets that don't have access to a pawn shop. I think this service cash4gold offers is a great idea.
Maybe there is a franchise opportunity here.
After the weekend I'll be ringing up the States to get a gold kit posted over to Australia.
If anybody has their email address could you post it here please.
Pigiron I just typed in www.cash4gold.com and came up with their homepage. Hope your plannin to be a little more honest than them. HH Mark

Thank's Silver; until now I've only read the anti-cash4gold remarks at Treasurenet, but upon visiting their own web site I now have both sides of the story.
The independent "rip- off report" was illuminating.
Overall, looking at both sides and dismissing any bias members here may have,
I believe this company cash4gold is worthy of praise and emulation.

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

I'd be very leary about this service :stop:.. Awhile ago on Craigs list someone posted, they sent to "Cash 4 Gold" and never received check nor their gold items back. I believe they need a new name "Cash 4 Fools Gold".

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

I know you guys trust institutions like the church over there in the states but I believe that postal theft occurs more than you believe by postal workers. This might account for the missing items.
Over here we use a receipted system where you have to sign with ID proof for the item.

ROFL I don't trust any institution

Not even if they put me in one :P

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

I've used American Recycling Associates in Dallas, TX.

I got what I expected and they returned all of the stones.

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

If it's too good to be true...it's a SCAM! I want top dollar for my stuff, not that I have any stuff, but if I did!!! :D

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

they probably offered you more in fear that you would want your gold back when the truth is they probably threw it in their melting pots the minute they got it. you should ask for your gold back and see if they offer you more. i hate people who take advantage of others >:( >:( >:(

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

I always figured places like that would ba crock of crap!

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

Sold some gold rings I found on the beach this past summer. Here were the offers: the local jewelry store offered $8.00 per gram of 14K gold (about $4.00 per gram less than their melt value). A local pawnshop offered only $50.00 for the lot. I guess they have to make a profit, too! Gold Masters offer was $415.15, which I accepted. I got a quick lesson on those who want to "make a living" and those who want to "make a killing" at the expense of others.

It preys among the jobless poor people in this economic times. No job no money sell your gold for money to pay bills. Pawn shops really stocked up on gold in the past year its amazing.

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

are they still in buisness under this name ?

I Have seen other commercials Lately.

I Wonder if they changed their name because of the bad publicity.

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

Their web site is still up. They even have a link in the middle that says "Did you know?: There are other options than Cash4Gold.com to sell your gold jewelry". I clicked on the link and it has 3 options, coin dealer, pawn shop, and the third is cash4gold. It looked to be a lame attempt at placating the public for their greed.

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

The best is they are doing nothing illeagle or wrong. They offer to buy your gold. They never said that they will pay top dollar, if people want to sell to them - that is their business. As for not buying stones and whatever was attached to the jewelry, read the name again!!! cash 4 GOLD. This vulture company takes it seriously, you send them stones, they keep them - as you sent your jewelery in to be melted and they paid you regardless of how little.

I think that this company is horrible & a scumbag way to make a profit, and would never do business with them, but everybody is gettin their undies in a bind over nothing. It is just basically a pawn shop that has a commercial - nothing more.

Remember - If it sounds too good to be true, than it is.

If anybody is selling 18k+ rings I will pay you $50 apiece. Anybody would have to be a moron to take that deal, but its not illeagle. And if I had a commercial I could show the rings in one hand and a few hundred dollars in the other!!! That's all they are doing. People are just dumb enough to take it... :tard:

Re: "Cash 4 Gold" You've seen the commercials

Really, I don't know if its that some people are dumb, or just "uneducated".

There are probably very few people in OUR hobby who would fall for it - not because we are all MENSA people, but because we all have some experience with metal and their prices.

I see there is a new place advertising on tv now, too.
