Carved Stone "Face"?

Found on beach while shell/rock collecting on Common Fence Point in Portsmouth, R.I. Dimensions: 6 inches long, 3 1/2 in wide with a thickness of 2 in. Weight approx. 3 lbs. There are barnacles where the mouth and nose might be. Any chance Native American made? My research revealed that hundreds of Native American artifacts have been found in same area (Beach close to Mount Hope Bridge in Bristol, R.I.) Any info. provided would be appreciated. This could just be a "freak of nature!"....just not sure. Thanks! Heidi E. Boynton Beach, FL :)

No it's not a carved stone face. It is a pebble conglomerate. The rounded pebbles in this conglomerate are different igneous and metamorphic rocks. The brown one in the center looks like quartzite.

Still a neat looking rock

Thanks to everyone for your input! I've looked for many hours for pictures of a Native American artifacts that look like this...no luck. I'm believing more and more based on your emails and my research that this is either an alien, a shrunken head, or a creepy rock. Oh yeah, my personal belief is that "she's" a mid-first millennim BC fertility God terracotta head from Nok, which is a form of Nigerian Art. Mystery solved! LOL
