Hey folks need a little help here, as I can find anything similar online or in my book.

This was found near my civil war cavalry camp. Looking at the grooves I’m assuming it’s from around that time.

Dimensions:
Height .703
Width: .480
Width at strike plate: .531

Thank you great minds of TNet

Since it is a center fire cartridge, I would place it after the CW. We get bullets even less than 10 years old mixed in with the CW stuff at all my sites.

Makes sense, didn’t see it in my CW book either, I guess the “3 ring design” was just throwing me off.

Base of a 410 shotgun shell, for sure. Anytime within last 50 years. Still make them just like that one.

The .410 bore or .410 gauge, is the second-smallest caliber of shotgun shell commonly available....

.410 bore
Neck diameter.455 in (11.6 mm) (plastic)
Base diameter.470 in (11.9 mm)
Rim diameter.535 in (13.6 mm)
