Two Saturdays ago I found this whazzit which I posted in Today's finds with some other things. The original photos were not too good, so I retook these. It was suggested that this could be an old door handle to a vehicle of some kind.

This past Saturday I found this object about ten feet from where I found the whazzit above. My old man tells me it is a tire rod.

I don't know anything about cars. Are these indeed car/truck parts? If so, any idea on a make/model/year?

Thanks in advance.

Look carefully at the window crank for a number or trademark. Failing that, bring the tie rod to a shop that specializes in front-end alignments. The oldest mechanic there may be able to help you.

The first item is definitely some kind of crank handle. A window crank handle is a reasonable assumption.

The second item is harder. I doubt it is an automotive tie rod since it lacks pivot mechanism (ball and socket). Possibly a suspension part but very old if so. (pre 1950) More likely it is from a heavy truck (>1 ton), tractor, or a piece of farm machinery.

More than likely farm equipment. The area was a strawberry farm.

The first and third photos are 2 different handles, the first one is an interior door handle and the third is a window crank handle.

It is the same handle from three angles - side, top, bottom.
