Heck yeah!! Looks like the cork has seen its better day but if you're that old you would be too! Nice save

thanks civilman...i almost threw it away when i found it ..didnt even cross my mind until today when i saw pics..this has happened several times when i kept something knowing it was odd but not actually knowing what it was lucky to find out later here on this forum.. thanks

Dfxcobb, That looks actually like a canteen stopper indeed. Great find and save. So glad you didn't throw it away.

Just wanted to hear your opinoins on this thing i found several months ago. I put it to the side because it was found along with some CW relics and a few modern items. I was looking at some CW relics online and ran across a canteen stopper and to me thats what it kinda looks like..what ya think

Nice .
I need to check my 'piles' for any Un-Id'd relics.

I'm guessing the water? saved the cork ? .
Have a great week .

yes water find

Good eye congrats that's pretty cool

Good deal on that. I have seen them but never knew. great work.

I meant to add, that to me, the round loop at the pieces end ID's this as a canteen stopper. I used to do Living History some years back and the equipment and accoutrements we used were of course were reproduction pieces but we're made as they were during the war. I have been able to ID several pieces I've found through the years by having used the reproduction pieces while doing Living History. Kinda funny.

DFXCobb, y'all be safe today and tonight with the approaching storm front.
