Awhile back last summer I found 2 cannonballs?. And CBG gave me some really great info. Anyway I finally got to the local post office and had them weighed. The grapefruit size ball weighed in at 11.8lbs/ 11.6/11.6lbs. Did it 3 times to be sure. The baseball size ball weighed in at 3.77lbs I used a wrap around tape measure to check circumference. This is what I came up with..

Went with 11.6 lbs
Averaged about 14.3"circumference
\pie = 4.55"dia

3.77 lbs
9.69" cir
3.08" dia

Looked at this chart and???
What do you guys think? They both show signs of corrosion after being in the Delaware river between NJ/ Pa mud about 18"+ down!
I want to verify if they are real or something else!

Great finds @flyadive.

Thanks plates. Hopefully their not body weights! Lol

I'm sure TheCannonballGuy will be by shortly to make an assessment....best one to answer your questions.....nice to see you out and about and away from the post I usually see you on! (How is you pet lion?)

Think maybe colonial finds?

Best guess is real. There was a lot of Revolutionary War activity in that area.

Thanks guys for the input, something else I didn't mention, both balls were found within ten yards of each other, aprox Same depth. I'll have to remove the crustations and give it a satin paint job.
