So I met up with my best buddy Possum at Walmart and off we went to the Old Fort early this morning. Possum just got a new small coil on his new Deus so he called Calabash for some Dues advice He said ‘How it works is slow and low and if you’re not digging pulltabs you’re leaving buttons. Now I did find two”Script I buttons” buttons at this location and that was a pewter solid 17 VDI last year. I never found anymore buttons. So that told me i’m passing them up because I never found anymore so that told me I buttons. 15 pulltaps later I saw roundness 1812 Artillery Corps Cuff Button. There’s lots of different varieties l not sure. Also a Buffalo nickel and a beautiful round ball. IMG_0869.jpg

Sweet artillery button truth, congratulations! Good to see you're still getting that old Fort to pay off.

Great looking button, congrats
Sometimes just slowing down and enjoying the day(s) of hunting one site pays off with a good find that results in a good memory-I believe you just had that happen.

Great War of 1812 button! There are several variants out there. Keep digging those pull tabs in older locations...buttons and gold are just waiting there. Also, the Revolutionary War ended in 1783, long before that button was made.

aj

I appreciate it and I have to admit I’m still sore from the five hour hunt two days ago but I will be back there to have a mid tone day. I just have to let the ground heal because I want to Midtown Hynes it leaves spots due to the hard digging you’re literally bigger than mud shells sometimes and brick.Jaundice property you better have a strong shovel that’s why I bought Big Red..

Hey ecmo Happy to hear from you. This fort was excavated by LSU archaeologist in Baton Rouge Louisiana well they sure missed a lot of stuff because I am blessed to have a preserveA lot of great fines that’s blew my mind this year this was a hard year in my personal life but in metal detecting which makes it all better. I had a great revolutionary war military year.....unbelievable

Hey pepperj I definitely will be I haven’t found that many buttons so the mid tones are a must and it’s very hard digging but this year has showed me a great amount of things from a French 8lbs cannonbal to this tiny button. I’m blessed but still soar lol I hope the year was good for you my friend until all the good people of treasurenet. Treasure net is great because not only do I get excited finding these things but sharing it is just as exciting.

Very nice War of 1812 button, one of my favorite patterns - eagle on a cannon with cannonballs.
But to be perfectly honest, I only say Revolutionary when I see Revolutionary
