I don't think so.. I think it is out of barrel tap or an old spigot key.

Here are a couple photos showing the gas petcock valve like yours. Here is an oddity then. This came out of my great grandparents house and I have had it since the 1960's. The valve .. or key .. is the one that has been with it and fits the opening perfectly. I am guessing it is a water jug, but now I am wondering about it.:icon_scratch:

Does the valve “key” in your water jug have an opening on the bottom of it for the water to come through when it is turned?
