Alrighty!! I was hoping I might get your attention with my title!! Lol hopefully it worked :-). I have 2 sets of smaller balls 2 have dragons on them and the other 2 have the ying/yang symbols. Obviously they are chinese but don't know what they are used for? They Also jingle with kinda a chime noise. The other ball I have is larger and seems to be made of some kind of natural wood maybe? It is hollow on the inside and about the size of a 10 pin bowling ball! Any help would be awesome and thanks guys!! :-)

Baoding balls.

Not to be confused with Ben Wa balls.
Baoding balls (Chinese: 保定健身球; pinyin: Bǎodìng Jiànshēn Qiú, literally "Baoding physical exercise balls") are also known as Chinese exercise balls, Chinese meditation balls, Chinese medicine balls, and healthy balls. They are a traditional product of Baoding, China, thought to have been created during the Ming dynasty. Two or more Baoding balls are rotated repetitively in the hand to improve manual dexterity and strength, and they are also said to assist in injury recovery.

I used to have a set of these on my desk at work. They were a gift from a departing colleague (Chinese guy). One morning they were gone so I reported the incident to security.

Me: I need to report a theft from my office.

Young female security guard: What was taken?

Me: My Chinese balls.

Young female guard: (now grinning) Can you describe them?

Me: There were two of them. Red. And they make a jingling sound.

At that point we both broke down laughing. I never got them back...

someone asked why they jingle and if i remember correctly thats the indication that you are using them incorrectly. if used right you should only hear silence.
