Thats one crazy looking nugget!!! I wish I could find gold caterpillars like that!!!

Wow! Awesome.

I've never seen one like that before. When we lived in Washington they used to live in the trees in the trees...like by the hundreds. It was the first time I'd ever seen mass caterpillars to the point that people thought they were pest. Which did you keep? Both?

now that should be the worm in the bottom of tequila.very cool man.

Are the creeks in the area the nugget came from have decomposed bedrock under them?

That's amazing, great find Doc. Your right near the source it looks like from the look of that wire. That would sell for pretty good price as specimen but like you said, keep it!

A Golden Scarab Beetle flew onto my desk the other night.

He said: I flew all the way from Egypt to tell you a secret that has been hidden for centuries.

I said, "What is that?"

"Follow me to Egypt, and I will show you where King Solomon hid all his enormous treasures of gold, silver, diamonds and rubies"

Uh, I need to get off these meds! Either that or change the movie!

Nice find!

I second the statement in bold! I also believe that you are very close to the source and could make a significant find.

That area we are in has veins running through it in several places.
You'll hit these chunkers as well as find lots of gold with quartz still attached.
When you do.... don't move... keep working the area till it plays out... then move backwards in case you missed some.
Most of GA's gold doesn't show signs of "travel" and wear like some areas, we were talking about the other day.
You don't find those "worn" smooth nuggets like many do around large rivers in CA, Alaska and other areas.
I was telling the guys... smooth worn gold equals energy.
Ours is lazy gold.
It breaks loose and finds a place to hide.
:)
