Need clear in focus pictures tures of the edges.
 

Only 1 picture is really in focus the other one isn't. Blow up the edge picture you will see what I mean.

On indian artifacts it is very important to have good pictures of all sides including edges.

It does not look like any Indian pottery pieces I have ever seen, found or own.
 

It looks to be a piece of stucco that at one time was adhered to metal lathe. The lathe is attached to the wall and the stucco is applied to it. When a building is demolished you get these types of pieces.
THat's what I was thinking as well. That or a "natural looking" piece of floor tile. That pattern on the back side is the giveaway.
