Can someone explain the Fast Grab GB on an F-75?

You push the trigger and pump the coil up and down 6" or so over the ground to do a FASTGRAB. Takes two seconds. Pushing the trigger invokes the "automatic" circuitry. Kind of a misnomer. It will either return a number or the Can't GB icon will show - telling you to move to another spot and try again. I get in the habit of doing it any time the soil appears different visually and otherwise every 15 minutes or so.

When sweeping there are some soil compensation algorithms but it is not truly an "automatic" ground balance. This is what allows it to be so fast. If it had to compansate and self-adjust you'd have to sweep slow and it would "average" what was under the coil - potentially rebalancing to the faint signals instead of indicating them as deep or faint targets.

There is also a manual GB process that allows you to set positive or negative if desired or for wet salt if you want or need to.
