Can lightning strike twice? CRH after the "dream box"

I posted last week about my dream box of halves that had 161 keepers (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/c...-first-dream-box-160-keepers.html#post2896683) and I was real excited to fish again from this same honey hole. The day after the dream box I went by another branch of the same bank to place an order of 8 boxes which came in on Tuesday. I dutifully picked them up Tuesday afternoon and was encouraged by the way the boxes were taped. When I was hitting good boxes from this bank earlier in the year the tape was all the way across the front and around the corners, but when I started hitting skunks I noticed the tape was only on the front middle and not around the corners. It might seem odd, but it was a pattern I had noticed before and the dream box from last week was taped around the corners.

Unfortunately lightning did NOT strike twice in my case, at least not with this batch. Boxes 1-4 were all skunks. Box 5 produced a 1962 Ben Franklin and a 1939 Walking Liberty. Box 6 produced a 90% Kennedy and a 40% Kennedy. Box 7 was a 1953 Ben Franklin and a NIFC 1987-D. Box 8 was another skunk.

Certainly not a tremendous find like last time, but at least there is more silver to add to the pile. Although it was only 5 silver keepers, 4 of them were 90% which helps. Maybe I'll have better luck on the four boxes coming in today.

Happy hunting!

It would be nice to be able to reproduce a box of 161 keepers, but you did not really think it was going to happen again. I would bet that there are many who visit this site that have very found even 25% of that boxes take.

I would like getting your take from those recent boxes

Not that you should give up trying or hoping

Yah keep on trying, but your box definitely sounds pretty nice!! I would go crazy finding a Liberty or even a Franklin, but I am relatively new. Good luck and happy hunting!

Statistics has no memory, that means your chance of finding a dream box is the same as everyone else's, despite the face that you've already found one. I'd say if you keep it up you'll eventually get one!

Remember life is the law of averages. Due to a massive sampling size (all humans and all actions), this means a whole bunch of freaky things are bound to happen to individual people that seem to go against what's statistically possible. Therefore, keep searching!

Same thing happened to me as Namster. I had an amazing eight boxes a few weeks ago, over $800 worth of silver at $28 an ounce. Ever since then, it's been one 40% every two boxes, like clockwork.

Yeah I have my theories on why that happens. I am waiting to have a year of data to look back on. Best I can figure is the cash vault dumps all the CRWs/bags into the hopper all at once for a time period. They box it all up, and we get the good stuff. Then its skunk city for a while until the cash vault dumps another batch. That would explain it anyway.

I usually the 50% drop off from week to week... from 2 40%ers to 1 40%er.

CWRs have produced 98% of my collection, possibly more. I doubt the possibility of getting a truly dream box in area. Being cynical today I guess but maybe those are my moments of clarity. Rest of the time, I'm day dreaming about the killer score.
