Yeah right, they have to be good at deciphering chicken scratch. You'd think doctors could write a little more legible with all that schooling! ;D

Definately English Letters.
But Not definately English words or Abreviations

Going out on a Limb here.
Could it be Upside Down, Japenese or Chinese ?

Thanks for the interest. It's not that important, just a set of nesting dolls I picked up at a yard sale and was wondering what the paper label said. It looks seriously illegible to me. You all confirmed it for me. :)

might be the makers "mark" --often making stuff like that is a cottage industry -- making items like that -- they send the finish product in marking it so the boss knows who made how many and by checking --the quality of their work -- Ivan

It is Russian, but it's probably just an abbreviation for an address. Doesn't really make a lot of sense, something like "Tsend 54, Ts B 16, Yg, 10000r." Whatever it refers to, it cost 10,000 rubles. When I lived in Russia in the 90's that was about 10 bucks.

That's exactly who I was going to recommend, Nahabit. He can help from here. Good to here from you again buddy. Beautiful nesting dolls. Ten dollars is not bad if they are home made.
