I found this in Plymouth, Massachusetts in Billington Sea Pond. It was in about 2 feet of water on the sand. It was very off the beaten path. I know many Native American points have been found in this area. Itā€™s definitely man made. Itā€™s a beautiful perfect stone. Any ideas?? I think itā€™s too big to be a musketball..

Due to the material I canā€™t tell if itā€™s round or flat on the edges. But either way they did have both types round and like mine I posted. I bought a collection once that had 2 pecked game balls in it. They were much different than the ones I found.

I had a friend who found a soapstone bowl on his property in the woods on a high spot above the river. Inside that bowl underneath all of the oak leaves was a round ball also made from soapstone. But the ball was probably 3 inches across. I saw the 2 he found. Iā€™m assuming the ball and bowl were a working pair. The ball must of been some type of unknown pestle for grinding inside the bowl which stood about a foot tall.

late to the party but remember too, that ball shaped stones can easily be naturally occurring, especially igneous rock (like granite). We have all found them.
