I found this in Plymouth, Massachusetts in Billington Sea Pond. It was in about 2 feet of water on the sand. It was very off the beaten path. I know many Native American points have been found in this area. Itā€™s definitely man made. Itā€™s a beautiful perfect stone. Any ideas?? I think itā€™s too big to be a musketball..

It looks like a Native American "Game Ball" and a nice one at that. Congrats on your rescue!

EDIT: Looks like its made from Granite. Could also be Cannon GrapeShot from the Rev. War era...
Thank you so much for your reply! I was thinking the same thing about a game ball- the water threw me off I thought maybe it was used for hunting something instead? Wow grapeshot! I just googled your right could be either! Itā€™s granite. I absolutely love it. Iā€™m so excited as ridiculous as that sounds šŸ™„. My dad finds beautiful points on the beachā€™s here when heā€™s not even looking. Iā€™ve looked for years & never found one. Then Iā€™m hiking last week & waded out into the pond feeding the fish my sandwich & look down & itā€™s right there in the sand. Iā€™m so happy. Itā€™s a piece of someoneā€™s history I love itā¤ļø Now Iā€™m really going to start looking for little treasures!! A new hobby. Thank you again.

Could be something worth keeping. Iā€™ve only had one in hand before. One thing itā€™s not is a milling ball. It looks like a type of stone we have here made from a type of quartzite which they liked to use. Iā€™d say hang onto it
Thank you!!! Iā€™m very excited I just love it. My dads found many beautiful points on the beaches here not even looking. Iā€™ve looked for years found nothingā€¦ā€¦ found this hiking last week I waded out into the pond to feed the fish some sandwich looked down @ it was sitting on top of the sand in plain sight. Iā€™m really excited lol. Iā€™m really going to start looking itā€™s sparked something in me??? I have my stone on my mantle wrapped in a little tissue. Thank you so much. This is a wonderful site I love seeing all the great finds!!!

Pretty rare find, you did good.
Thank you Iā€™m so excited lol! I absolutely love it. I tucked it up on my mantle wrapped in a tissue & find myself looking @ it constantly šŸ™„ I think itā€™s beautiful. Iā€™m really going to start looking now to try to find a point. My dad finds them everywhere itā€™s amazing. Thank you again this is a fantastic site you are all wonderful!!

That is a very cool find! I'd say it's a Native American game ball, but whatever it is, thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you very much for assisting me with it ! I assumed it was an indigenous piece but so much history here I wasnā€™t sure if it was some primitive type of shot. I love it lol. Iā€™ve found a new hobby. Thank you again

Congratulations on a good find. Also, Iā€™ll never again think the same way when I hear ā€œfish sandwichā€! LOLšŸ‘šŸ¼

Thank you ā¤ļø Iā€™m really so excited. All the encouragement from everyone is enlightening. Itā€™s on my mantle after being in the water for probably a very long time. Itā€™s loved & appreciated. And I know the fishā€¦ā€¦ā€¦. too funny lol. Stay safe thank you again

Welcome to the forum.
I can see why you picked that one up. You're right about the prospects of finding artifacts in and around the Billington Sea area.
Congrats and good luck hunting!
