Sorry to resurrect a fairly old thread but just wanted to pat myself on the back a little. This has to do with the bolo tie discussed above.
When I was researching this piece, I found a very similar one (without the maker's hallmark) that sold on eBay for $299. I listed this piece for $299. After a few weeks I got an offer of $125. I countered with $225 and the prospective buyer came back with $150. I countered with $175 and they refused. I re-listed it for $299. It was listed for a few more weeks at that price and then sold it the other day for my full asking price:

This is very likely my best score ever as I only paid $2 for it. If the guy that turned down $175 was watching he is probably kicking himself now. BTW, this was sold to someone in Sedona, Arizona. Judging by their eBay member name, I suspect they are a dealer. I might ask them what else they know about the maker.
