43 and holding!

I'm 29 and holding, my lying DL for some reason says 65..

Baker, I personally think it is a good idea and have posted suggestion on the moderator forum for discussion. .

I would rather die standing on my two feet defending our Constitution than live a lifetime on my knees......

Hi Folks; I'm aiming mostly at the teen age group 10 to 25. Lets face it. Youth don't talk about Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Roy Orbison. We do and are completely comfortable doing so but our Youth here don't. I'd like to make things a bit more inclusive if possible. It does NOT mean that our Youth can NOT go anywhere on TNet here. It just means that they have a place here where they can talk about topics pertinent to them. Heck my kid baffles me all the time. It's a Youth thing ok. Besides I think they would rather go detecting with someone their own age faster than an older person This would make them feel more at home here. Yes, I think their topics should be about detecting and we not only should but MUST help them in any way we can.
So it is with this said that I ask that any youths here please speak up and be warmly recognized for the truly valuable Members of TNet you are. You guys are the future of TNet and detecting as a whole ok. You may feel free to send me a PM anytime ok. I hope this clarifies this matter. Thanks. PEACE:RONB

I guess that leaves me out. Your right though it's important to help the younger members, as it is a lot better to go detecting than be involved in some other activities...

I am 22 years old. Love researching and hunting treasure. I feel as though my generation is losing grasp on what is out there to be found and caring less about the history behind it all. This is a passion for me and i wish more people my age felt the same!

There was a young MD'er asking a few days ago if there were kids his age on here, good idea BARKER!

my daughter is 13 and hunts with me all the time.she helps me research for folks on,"what is it"forum.I highly recomend we all help get the young into this hobby.I mentor a young man and gave him one of my machines...he hunts with me regularly. He finally hit a 925 ring which he gave to his girl friend.now she has gone with us too.
He has gone from being kicked out of highschool (I begged his dean for last chance)to a c avg.junior in good standing in one year.

take the time gang...its worth it...and heck yes a youth forum has a value.my daughter wont post as she is shy around adults.

cheers

It very well may have changed that boys life literally. Bigfoot1, I would like to Vote Honorable Mentions for you. You deserve it. Thanks for your service. To Ninjafossils, Welcome. How long you been detecting. Share your story of how you got into it ok. It will be an inspiration to us all ok. I look forward to hearing from more of you guys. PEACE:RONB

I agree. I am 23 and can't seem to find anybody to actually share my passion. Best I can do is get people to geocache (which they ALWAYS enjoy) but beyond that there's no interest. It surprises me really.

That always surprised me as well when I was your age. I started detecting when I was 14 with a cheap radio shack detector. All my friends at the time thought I was a nerd! Lol! As long as you like hunting it's OK to go on your own...

Well I ain't hit 50 YET! :laughing7:
I mentally stopped around 17 or 18, but the wrinkles (that are only starting, lol) tell I'm closer to 40 than 17!

I saw a thread calling for the gamers somewhere in Everything Else here. Perhaps the younger md's will tell us some of their interests, that some of us older folks might learn a few things.
I no nothing of gaming, geekery, CPU's, comic-con, cosplay, and some of the neat things the younger folks are in to.
Yeah, my "Seventeen" mag still has David Cassidy on the front cover. :laughing7: :BangHead:

All that most ever see of md-ing, is guys with headphones, walking, digging, and getting dirty.
If someone had actually showed me a pile of found treasure gold silver etc, when I was younger, I would have started this a lot sooner! :icon_thumleft:
