California Gold nugget

Dug up this 5.1 gram gold nugget from a small grassy area near town on Easter Sunday. Gold country here in California is 2 hours away, So how did it get here? I’m thinking it fell off a piece of jewelry or maybe dropped by a miner. The area dates back to 1850’s
Used the Deus2 on beach sensitive program. I find park program kind of weak. Down 6 inches deep. VDI was 66 on the D2. This area has been hit hard by others but there are a few targets left.
