I found this immaculate pot when i was 16 at a lake near my childhood home, me and my brother would take a boat to an island and look around for arrowheads and what not.. I allways looked on the high banks of the island after it would come a good rain, and one day i was looking around the bank and i seen a broken shard of poetry so i figured there might be more of that same pot there so i kept on looking until i found to where the side of the bank had fallen off into the water's edge, and then i saw it!! it was just laying there right in the open for everyone to see!!!! my heart just about jumped out of my chest when i seen it, so i carefully picked it up after looking around to see if there was more, and took it home i didn't find anything inside the bowl, so i dont know what might have been in it.. but any way this is my best find.. hope you enjoy..

I do not know anything about Caddoan ceramics, but that is one beautiful artifact.

I have only found one complete pot, and that was an Anasazi bowl while I was hiking in Utah. It was sticking out of a cutbank in the back of a cave.

Unfortunately, there were also human ribs jutting out nearby, and so I took the best map and compass positions I could in the canyon country, and later on a professional dig was carried out to salvage the eroding burial, and the bowl was discovered to be intact and of the Mesa Verde black on white style. I did not pull it out of the bank when I found it, so I only knew that it looked very complete at the time.

Hopefully one day I will find one without any bones and in an irrigation ditch somewhere!

I do not think many whole ones ever come around with out the bones. Sometimes the pot washes out first like in Inks case. Sometimes a broken one or maybe enough pieces in the midden to put one back together.
The pottery is beautiful.
