Found this clamp ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1419884486.796071.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1419884509.965199.jpgin a Connecticut field along with large and small cents nearby. Cents ranged from 1829-1859 (mostly 1858 flying Eagles). Any info on this item would be appreciated.

looks old, possibly hand forged.

Since the threads aren't long enough to close all the way, my guess it a dedicated clamp....perhaps in some kind of machinery.

Looks like a specialized clamp. Notice how short the amount of adjustment it has. Also it won't handle something very big in diameter.

Was thinking an old meat grinder but all the pics I found had two legs on top for support.images.jpg
