This morning I hunted the second of five house sites that I recently received permission from the property owner for … this property date’s c.1860. The houses are all located within a one-block radius of each other. In the third photo of the backyard where I hunted today you can see the front and side of the house I detected on Sunday morning. The first good signal I got (that wasn’t a penny) was 81 – 82 and out came what I thought was a silver ring, but when I got home I realized it was silver plate on copper.

Some of the highlights of this hunt were finding two beautiful brass makeup compacts. I also found an old brass wedding ring, a 1oz brass trade weight, a brass clock key, a delicate silver-plated brass buckle and a beautifully decorated teaspoon! I also found an aluminum condom tin, but we won’t talk about that one!

Thanks for looking,
Dave

Well being a northeast guy that loves early colonial history that was my dream find so I may not come down for awhile. I could not be happier and am so honored to be the keeper of that piece of history. Let's see that coin buddy

I've cleaned it up, but it's pretty worn. :icon_scratch:
I put on a coat of bees wax & mineral oil, when this dries the details become much clearer.
I also found a 1910 Victoria LC and a pocket watch frame, I'll post all this tomorrow... gotta go to bed now! :laughing7:

I'm in Bangor Dec. 8 - 10, but my schedule's kinda tight with meetings and the company Christmas Party on the 9th.
How far is Topshaw from Bangor?

I'm about an hour and 45 minutes south

Dave, love those finds, pix and that house is a beauty. Those ornate finds are some of my favorites, they don't make stuff like that anymore.
