Detector(s) used
Whites Eagle Spectrum, XLT Fisher's CZ5 Garretts GTA 1000
I find these by the hundred. It is made of metal and 30mm. So my questions are. What is it? Is it valuable? How was it used? BTW Since I know nothing of taking pictures I used a white background just so you can focus on the item.

I don't know... I thought all drinks came from cans and had pre seperated opening decices in place. Drinks from bottles? How long ago whould that be?

How long ago? there are millions being popped off every evening in
thousands of bars in every time zone at around 5:30 PM, I think
mostly for medicinal purposes :occasion14:

You had to open it with a cap opener.

Back in my day - if you didn't have a church key, you used the corner of your table, or your counter - or, if you were near your car -- you could tip it just right and "pop" it off on your bumper. (of course, bumpers were made of metal then)

Or do like we did as kids ;D Invite all the neighborhood kids over so they could see my uncle open a coke bottle with his teeth :o Still makes my skin crawl thinking abou it! :D :D :D And lord forbid you chipped the edge of Moms table ::) Couldn't sit right for a week ::)

A bottle cap in that condition is not worth a cent. Sorry
Will looking at the other side change you mind?
Perhaps that and after cleaning. The condition and rarity are the determining factors of value.

Back when i was young?? Wewould use a pocket knife to very
carefully pry the inside cork liner out. Then we would put the
crown cap on the outside of a baseball cap @ on the inside we
would put the cork back in so it made a tight fit. we would walk
around with a bunch of bottle caps stuck to our caps. Goofy as
all hell but it was fun. Jimbob

The simple pleasures we had back in the day would never hold any interest for todays kids.

;D We used to put them in the spokes of our bikes along with a baseball card or two. "Clackety, Clackety, Clackety!"
Where did that come from?

When I bought my detector as a bonus I got two of those for free. The guy was real nice about it, I thought if I was going to spend that much money I should have some bargining power. We wheeled and dealed, tried to give me a nice digger - no deal, tried to give me some batteries - ha he did not know who he was bargining with. I told him I wanted some old stuff or the deal was off, so he went to the back room and came out with a couple, I bought the Detector and walked out knowing I got the best deal.
