Hello all hope your out swinging a bit cold but we manage
Today I wanted to hit a spot near my home
It's a small mountain range , huge hill after huge hill
I know from reading and exploring there was early activity there's sulking sticks
So I park the car and off I go , short hunt I told myself well we know how that goes
We hunt find nothing , move on well I did that a few times after hitting a few buttons and a couple of pewter toy figures I found myself a bit confused as to which way to go to my car
Well I made the wrong choice , and what I did find was the remnants of an old house ,don't think
Quite colonial but mid 18s for sure a few stone walls and a staircase
That was 5 feet from a 100 ft drop down a hill
Now I'm a hunter and I wanted to spend some time there but I was exhausted and needed to go
So I took a few photos and pinned the place for a future (BOB) hunt
I found a trail and started walking an hour later I'm still walking
I hear cars but I know My car is the other way
Now I'm in a bad way ! I'm tired no water and hungry and still not sure if the path leads to neat my car , another 25 min I come to a fork there is a freaking lady standing there with like 5 walking sticks , I'm like do you know where the parking lot is , she says yes I'll walk with you
We walked and talked for 10 min ( I was going to go the other fork ) we get to the parking lot I see my car I thank her she smiles and say your most welcome I walk to my car I turn to ask her
Name she is nowhere to be seen

That's what I found today Happy hunting good luck

Well you know my theory, and my wife's. I think it was Xenia of St. Petersburg. She was a wanderer and carried a stick. And big blue eyes like you described to me.

My wife, having known you, thinks you were hallucinating...loo

Cool story, two good finds, first the surprise site in the woods, and then your guardian angel.

not sure if this is one for the X-files______or the dead files. go back and try to touch her----if your hand goes through>>>>>>you have the answer to the most important question ever. maybe a tip to a good hunting spot would be in order.....

Sounds like you met your angel - cool story!

Charlie tell them about the dry clean sticks she was holding.

yeah right...you are just trying to scare off everyone from your spot...nice finds

And she knew you ,as most guys are , was lost.
"No mam I'm not turned around ...but my car sure seems to be.":laughing7:
I'd leave a stick next visit.Congrats on getting out ,(twice in one hunt it reads like.:o)

He tells me and Bart all the time, "oh, don't go over there guys. I think there's ghosts" ...and then pulls a big mammah jammah find. Lol

Everyone has a guardian angel.
Nice story.

Cool story and I am glad it worked out for you! Your lead figures are: Small one is a Barclay #616 "Boy." The larger, headless one is a Manoil #20 "Doctor" (military if in khaki) Both circa 1935-1941. I bet there are many more at that spot. Best of luck, Sub 8-)

"I thought she was a ghost and had to check, officer!" "Sure, buddy, just come with me."

Don't listen to them Charlie. Bart and I don't have enough time to hunt and visit you in the Loony Bin. And you know which we'll choose;)

Great story. I swear I heard eerie music playing in the background while reading it, like metal detecting in the Twilight Zone! Some really interesting finds, and I look forward to reading about your return to the old house site.

Next time you are lost in the woods... just follow the trail of gloves back to the parking lot!

The lead toy soldiers are really nice. I have only ever found one of them, and it's one of my favorite finds!

Ahhh yes, the good old days, lead paint, lead toys, Hell, there was lead everywhere!

Best of luck to you Charlie!
