Hey everyone. I was hoping for some help identifying this monogrammed “K” copper piece. I believe it was a button it looks like the remnants of a shank. I’m not sure though. So any help identifying this piece would be great! And maybe era? 63A52B7E-5522-4A7A-8251-72DF72028DAC.jpeg10184049-1109-4EB8-82B0-0DF569936E2E.jpeg

My impression is that this is not a button as the attachment would have been centered and very seldom were square buttons made. I suspect that this is an attachment for leather and the prong has been broken off. Maybe someone with experience could weigh in on the age of the script style.

I agree that the shank would be in the center and not towards the top. So more than likely a decorative piece. The era and purpose still eludes me.

It looks like a personalized horse blinker (blinder) accoutrement to me.

DCMatt a cuff link would still have a centered shank. Plus this is much to thin and light.

I just moved to Elmira with my girlfriend. We’re from PA. Any chance you can recommend places to hunt. Right now I’m doing my yard. That’s where I found this.

Great! I’m looking for historical items...... not so much into modern treasure hunting.

I am almost certain this is a Victorian era monogrammed stick or hat pin. It makes the most sense!

If anyone doesn’t have any other ideas I will mark as solved. I’ll give it another day or two.
