I found this today hunting an old fort site. I can't really find anything on it and would really appreciate an ID. Thanks in advance

What does the back look like and what size is it?

If it is pewter, it's possibly a circa 1808-1830 General Service button.

I agree with Mud Hut, found a lot on War of 1812 sites. Yours is really nice.

It's pewter. And that puts the time frame about right

Nice find and a very good one for this part of the country. Have you ever detected the Double Bridges site? I hunted it one time but couldn't get to the actual skirmish site because it was during deer season and the guys who had the land leased were hunting. I was invited back after the season but life changes took me away from that area.

The CTX 3030 in my opinion is a monster. I love it

I am not sure about the route number but if memory serves me it was off the Thomaston highway out of Manchester. We used to eat at Riverbend restaurant at least once a month.
