The bottom lead one is a seal.Clothe,bag,bale etc.Yours likely a clothe.Sorta like the ones below in the links.Want to add that they used them style with the crown for years I know you live in Maryland & not out of the question to find one there that old but likely it's not & would be hard to tell.Cause I see them from 17th to 20th century using seals marked with just a crown.

Sorry to have to say, it is definitely a post-civil-war era button. There are two reasons for that analysis of its time-period:
1- The word "quality" in the backmark (maker's-mark) on it is written in non-Serifed (a.k.a. "plain block") lettering.
2- Extensive research has not produced even a single photo of a civil war soldier wearing that version of Musician's button (which shows a 4-stringed Lyre on its front).
