Button help ,copper I think

Found this strange button in a know civil war area,it was very cruddy when it was dug .After cleaning for 3 days it got this.
It is a hair smaller than a penny yet weighs 1 gram more at 4 grams to the penny's 3 .Also a hair thicker .

Any help on what this could be would be great ,and thank you .
