Had PA SLUETH meet in town today.
Was going to a old spot that I have pounded, with a bunch of guys from Tnet. Treblehunter, Scrappy, old dude, Cjon. Just to name a few..lol
But almost every time I go something special comes out.
Today was no different.
Got to tell ya though, Sleuth was not to excited to go. Lol
As you see from his post, that changed.
I found the 1824 LC 5 feet from Sleuths KG1, its funny my coin is 100 years newer and a hole lot worn..
I also found a super cool metal, that is actually the first credit card ever.
Its from JOHN WANAMAKERS.
The first department store here in Philadelphia. They would give you this metal with the numbers on it and you would show it when buying things. The keeped a record of what you bought and you would have to pay at the end of the month..
I dont who remembers the John Wanamakers badge I found a couple of months ago but this is beginning to be a nice collection of his stuff.
I will post a pic of the badge again.
And yes, I found another Capped bust coin..lol This one only be 10 cents..lol.
Man oh man the luck I have been having????
I think Im going to Vegas this weekend! ! Haha.
Thanks for looking.
Ps, I think I was more excited for Sleuth then me today..
George

Ooh, that Wanamaker medal is really good, not to mention all the other goods...and another capped bust!!

Sounds like a dreamy spot that keeps producing high quality finds. I can't wait to see your year end post!

Thanks J,
This spot has been good to alot of guys. But especially me...
Hope the year end post waits for a while? Haha.

George... that badge is sick! How did I miss you posting that!?... its totally banner material to me. Finding the latest Wanamaker item at the same site makes it even cooler.

Another bust coin... killing it man.

Keep the finds coming man. I get excited every time I see you post.

I just put $10 in an envelope and mailed it to you... when it arrives, I need you to go pick me up the winning Powerball ticket and mail it back to me. haha

Yes I hope so, we have snow in the forecast in a week from now...GROAN

A nice way to "cap" off the season. Now go home and leave some stuff for the rest of us! It's just amazing how we've all missed what we have at that spot, and it keeps on producing. Those don't come around too often.

Oh no?
Are you getting out this weekend at all?

Yes, tomorrow I should have the whole day. Just waiting on permission to hit an old farm (1900) that some friends own. About an hour away, hopefully there will be some decent things to find.

I'll be looking for your next post which will surely be a gold coin or draped bust silver. Ridiculous

you are causing a shift in the delicate balance of time, space and relativity, which may cause Pa. to become the center of a massive black hole that sucks silver from all the universe.

Thanks Toasted..

JAY, told me all about you!!!
Ill take that as a compliment..

Hot damn those are some nice finds. The capped bust is a sweet find but I think that Wanamaker badge is just awesome.

Hello Vino. Very nice digs all. I am especially liking the John Wannamaker stuff...very interesting guy. I dug one of his credit medals a few weeks ago here in Central FL very similar to yours but a long way from home. Thanks for the post and good luck. C9

That's a great day. It sounds like you are having fun and that's what it's all about.
I found a Wanamaker credit tag about 3 years ago. It was quite educational when I researched what I had found. The tag was found in a grassy island at the edge of the sidewalk where people will exit their car after parking.
g.
It is important for me to know how some things came to be lost. Thar information along with the age of the site

OH! I couldn't imagine where you would find all that old stuff.
Philadelphia area!!!
That makes perfect sense as America started there!

Nice and great finds Vino!
Looks like you KNOW how to do what the other 95% can't!
